WHAT IS CDEP?

The Chip Design Enablement Programme (CDEP) aims to lower the barriers for early stage UK start-ups developing prototype ICs. IC design is complex, time-consuming, and costly. Many start-ups are in a position where they lack the infrastructure to bring their ideas to fruition.

CDEP will combat this by providing a hosted cloud environment with access to commercial EDA tools from leading industry vendors. Microelectronics specialists will be available to support start-ups with their chosen design flows and provide bespoke training where required.

CDEP will help UK start-ups demonstrate a functional IC prototype in order to attract investors, ultimately promoting the growth of the UK microelectronics design industry.
