CDEP will provide and manage a hosted cloud environment funded by the UK government. This cloud instance will be configured to the start-ups requirements to include installed commercial EDA tools from leading industry vendors and PDKs for their intended tape outs.
Support for the EDA tools and design flows will be provided for by UK microelectronics engineers based at STFC, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire. Further bespoke training for advanced concepts and tool features can be provided where required.
Once a prototype has been produced, a subsequent commercialisation process with the EDA vendors would take place as part of the start-up’s next phase.
